Update on my health

News

As many of you may have heard, I was recently hospitilized for heart complications.  I just wanted to post an update for those of you who have been inquiring after my health.

I was flown up to Sacred Heart Medical Center on Thursday with a suspected heart attack. They had me stabilized relatively quickly, and watched me overnight until my heart surgeon could be in for cathertization procedure on Friday evening. The cath revealed two blocked arteries; one large and one smaller. They were able to succesffully install a stent in the larger artery but were unable to do anything with the smaller artery, so it was decided to put me in ICU while I rode out the heart attack that was sure to follow due to the blocked smaller artery.

I made it through ICU and the second heart attack without significant damage to my heart and was released back to the normal cardiac wing, where I have been resting comfortably (aside from a migraine) until they discharged me today. I'm home and am counting my blessings.

Thank you to everyone for your kind thoughts and prayers. I deeply appreciate every one of you and am looking forward to the new energy that new beginnings always bring.

Cell phone is kaput [UPDATED]

Clients

I'm afraid my cell phone (790-4739) is down and it looks like I'm going to have to get a new one. I'm working on getting a replacement as fast as I can, and I apologize for any delays that may result. Please be aware that text messages sent to my phone will not be delivered until I have received a replacement. I will be checking my voicemail periodically throughout the day, however, but the best way to reach me is via email.

UPDATE 3/16/2010 6:08 am: I ended up reactivating my old phone so I am now able to take your calls and text messages until I can get a new phone. Thank God for insurance!

Introducing Uncle Ben's Guitar, by Mike and Olivia Haberman

Clients
Mike and Olivia Haberman: Uncle Ben

When I first heard Mike and Olivia Haberman play, I was immediately struck by how superb their songwriting abilities were. These songs are warm, friendly, and present subjects and people in such an intimate light you almost immediately feel that you know these people personally. This is songwriting at its best.

This album is simply but elegantly produced (Paul Ely Music), with instrumentation perfectly balanced to the subjects and the fantastic songwriting. Mike and Olivia take turns on acoustic guitar, Olivia soars on the penny whistle, and Mike simply rocks on the mandolin. Mandolin/fiddle legend Richard Kriehn and musician/producer Paul Ely Smith lend their fantastic talents as well to the songs, adding fills and solos just where they fit best.
